net-a-porter's fall stuff is so great.. I was a little disappointed this summer.. I actually did not notice any mind blowing items.. Aside for Balmain taking over the fashion industry.. And apparently wanting us all to sell our homes and children for one of their items.. Good timing balmain! Nice time for a comeback.. I dont know if you noticed but umm.. The world is in somewhat of an economic crisis... and you are teasing us with these jaw-dropping outfits?! Cruel, cruel world we live in.. Anywhooo, Fall 09 has made up for the drought. Everything is just so embellished and details are everywhere. I love the catwoman thing thats going on. Halston has some great off the shoulder pieces and I adore the paul and joe strapless dress covered in black sequins. Perfect LBD for this season. I think im just happy everything is so shiny. Its my season. And I shall enjoy every moment. Actually im sure Kuwait shares my feelings. I think we all have one gene in common.. the love for sparkly things. ;)

LOVE KUWAIT!

I think im just too patriotic. Its painful. I LOVE that im kuwaiti. No really. i feel the green,white black and red swimming in my arteries. Fantastic. I was sitting with the family today in the calorie filled month of ramadan discussing just how proud I am. I just think kuwaitis are so creative. Really. I cant stop gloating about how amazed I am at these new trends of home businesses. For those of you that may not know, Kuwaitis who have the available time are setting up small businesses at home such as cooking and baking, clothing, phone accessories and gadgets. Basically they create websites or send ads of their business to blogs along with a phone number and send 'em away! initiative! I love it! Its actually become so popular there was an exhibition recently where all the little businesses came out of hiding and set-up in some center and there you go! Everyone got to flex their little business muscles and show all of Kuwait exactly what they had to offer.. I really am so impressed..My dad came back with some little chocolate molten lava cakes in tin foil that u put into the oven and... oh.. my..gaaad. I would definately do many horrible things for those little cakes. He actually sent me this picture of one of the sign boards that had named all the different kinds of desserts.. haha I thought it was so cool to keep it so kuwaiti. Great ideas everyone! Its really nice to see so much interesting stuff coming out of kuwait.. Keep it up!

timeless classic? or one off originals?

today I was doing my usual browsing around net-a-porter and such websites and wondered to myself.. every season we crave something new.. Its only human. (thats what the evil spirits tell me when my credit cards max out) and I thought to myself.. what would I rather have? Classic pieces that I may blow loads of cash on.. or those not so expensive 'in the moment' items that we know are hot for the season and may come back at some point during our lives? I mean.. can classic just get boring and serious? what about the one offs? cant they get too eccentric and wasteful? Does one bow down to each season when told to jump through hoops? who knows. More opinions necessary.

Following an exhausting few days in Mykonos we got the chance to relax in Santorini. This picture is from the bus on the way to the hotel. My friend is in the back of the bus covering her face all because our driver puts fresh mint in the air conditioner. She has some strange hate for mint. Amonst millions of other dislikes and phobias. All the towns in Santorini are up on the top of the mountain. I have never seen more beautiful sunsets in my life. I could die here. I could not have asked for a more amazing summer. Oh and it didnt end that quietly. I dragged myself over to marbella after that. Couldnt give in that easily!



Just leaving Nikki Beach in Marbella. That place is madness. In the best of ways. Definately died down this year but its always a great place to spend the day if you enjoy noise.

This woman is on fire! Not only did she OWN the Dolce and Gabbana campaign but shes rocking it for mango too! fabulous woman. I love what a chameleon she is. You can see how much her look can be manipulated when you compare the two campaigns. She really is one to admire. Or hate her, because your just damn jealous!

So today I discovered the complexities of starting up a blog. Although I consider myself a very high-tech woman of the modern world, figuring out this html crap just was no fun. Considering im a Gemini and live up to the impatient nature, im giving myself a pat on the back for effort. Gold star for me! For those of you who have stumbled upon this blog... Welcome! Im just as lost as you are. No no but do not fret. Im looking forward to our many adventures to come! This entire blog is just dedicated to wonderful things. the things that get to take us away for a moment. The luxuries and joys of living. I do know this is a very broad spectrum to cover, thats why im sticking to the more material side of things. I do believe the best things in life are family, friends and loved ones... But we must admit. We all have a little addiction to those horrible ad people and the obbsessive fashion magazines. Amour propre was a name I found suitable as it refers to self-esteem and loving yourself. I dont believe a person can really enjoy those little meaningless material objects we all droll over unless guilt is eliminated from the equation. Enjoy your own beauty, embrace your own charm... then buy that chanel clutch to match.
